우리 대한민국과 미국은 지난 70여년간 군사적 동맹과 경제적 협력을 통해서 상호 우호와 협력 속에서 가장 가까운 우방으로 튼튼한 신례관계를 유지해왔습니다.
The Republic of Korea and the United States have maintained a strong and trusted relationship as the closest allies over the past 70 years through military alliance and economic cooperation, fostering mutual friendship and collaboration.


우리 대한민국이 북한 공산당의 침략을 받았을 때 유엔군 이름으로 맥아더 장군을 비롯한 미군이 와서 우리 대한민국이 공산화 되는 것을 막아주었습니다. 그 전쟁 속에서 사망자 36,574명, 부상자 103,284명, 포로 및 실종자 7,926명 합계 희생자 147,784명의 미군이 북한 공산당과 싸우다가 희생된 것을 우리는 절대로 잊지 않고 기억하고 있으며, 이분들의 희생과 주한미군이 지켜준 덕분에 지난 70여년간 대한민국은 공산당과 맞서서 이길 수 있었고 평화를 유지하고 있습니다.
When the Republic of Korea was invaded by the North Korean communist forces, it was the U.S. forces, led by General MacArthur under the name of the United Nations Command, that came to our aid and prevented our nation from falling to communism. We will never forget and always remember the sacrifices of 36,574 American soldiers who lost their lives, 103,284 who were wounded, and 7,926 who were taken as prisoners or went missing, totaling 147,784 American casualties in the fight against the North Korean communists. Thanks to their sacrifice and the protection provided by the U.S. troops, the Republic of Korea has been able to stand against communism, achieve victory, and maintain peace for over 70 years.

트럼프 대통령님, 아시다시피 안타깝게도 우리 대한민국의 대통령은 현재 야당의 일방적인 공격을 받고 현재 탄핵 소추 심판과 내란혐의로 수사를 받고 있습니다. 그래서 취임식날 트럼프 대통령과 가장 가까운 옆자리에 앉아서 취임 축하를 해드렸어야 하는데 그렇게 하지 못하였습니다. 아마도 트럼프 대통령 역시 같은 마음이었을 것이라 생각합니다.
President Trump, as you may know, it is truly regrettable that the President of South Korea is currently under brutal attack by the opposition party and is facing an impeachment trial as well as an investigation on charges of insurrection. As a result, President Yoon Suk Yeol could not sit close to you during your inauguration to extend his congratulations, as it should have been. I believe you, President Trump, are likely to share the same sentiments of regret about this situation.

트럼프 대통령님, 우리 대한민국 국민들은 현명하며 성숙된 높은 민주화 의식을 가지고 있기 때문에 지금의 탄핵 정국도 무사히 잘 극복해낼 것입니다. 그러니 조금만 기다려 주십시오. 갇힌 윤석열 대통령의 지지율이 현재 50%를 넘어가고 있고, 조만간 탄핵이 기각되면 대통령 직무복귀를 할 것입니다. 복귀하게 되면 최대한 빠른 시일내에 두 정상이 만나서 남북관계의 평화와 나아가 동북아시아 평화와 더 나아가 세계의 평화를 위해서 함께 협력하는 자리를 만들어 주십시오.
President Trump, the people in South Korea are wise and we share a deep trust in the democratic process. Therefore, we will successfully overcome the current situation caused by impeachment. We kindly ask for your patience during this time. The approval rating of President Yoon Suk Yeol, who is currently detained, has already surpassed 50%, and once the impeachment case is dismissed, he will return to office. When that happens, we ask you to arrange a meeting between you two as soon as possible to collaborate for peace not just on the Korean Peninsula, but also in Northeast Asia, and ultimately, peace for the world.
